Give Her A Chance was founded by Dr. Mamadou Moustapha to end the cycle of child marriage in his home country of Niger. Mamadou witnessed firsthand the consequences of denying young girls an education and forcing them into marriages at an early age. He still recalls fellow classmate Haouaou Hassan Mani, a highly intelligent girl ranked third in class who was forced to marry at the age of 13 and denied the opportunity to complete her education. Haouaou's future was as bright as that of her male classmates. Not only was her personal story cut short, her community at large missed out on the long lasting impact that Haouaou could have made as a dynamic and educated woman.
